Although by inclination contemporary in style and approach, Brian Kennedy is also happy to produce more traditional wedding photography, and in fact, has found that his subjects tend to prefer a mixture.

Two things matter to Brian: one is image quality; the other is empathy.

Quality owes as much to printing skills as to expertise with a camera. He hand prints every image. He is meticulous - 'almost obsessive' about the smallest detail of a photograph and will not pass an image to a client until he himself is 100% satisfied with it.

Empathy - the ability to make some kind of connection with his clients - is, Brian feels, the absolute essential. When asked to shoot a wedding he will spend time in advance with clients talking through their requirements and expectations. He will also use the time to get to know the clients, to understand their aspirations and to develop a relationship with them.
